Tamika Lewis, LCSW

CEO/FOUNDER

Following the painful loss of two college mates to suicide, I felt driven to create a space where teens and women of color could put down the facade of perfection and show up as their authentic selves. As women, we spend the greater part of our lives practicing and perfecting a public persona, while struggling inside with anxiety and depression. Together, we explore family, gender, and cultural beliefs that don’t align with who you truly are. Imagine being able to heal and release trauma that no longer belongs to you.

My name is Tamika Lewis and I am the Clinical Director and founder of WOC Therapy. Our wellness center was designed with the unique needs of BIPOC teens and women in mind. We provide individual and group counseling, energy healing, yoga, and ceremonies with an emphasis on helping women and teens overcome anxiety and depression. Our team of healers are trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the Grief Recovery Method, Somatic Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). We pull from the wisdom of ancestral healing, integrating laughter, movement and storytelling into every session.

My formal education began at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, where I studied English and Sociology. I went on to complete my Masters degree in School Counseling at CSULB and a Masters in Social Work at UCLA. While at UCLA, I was the National Association of Social Worker Student Award recipient, and was presented with the UCLA MSW Excellence Award.
