Nayra Halajian is a second-generation Armenian-American originally from Los Angeles, CA. She received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA, and has a professional background in marketing and artist management in the context of the music industry, where she worked closely with artists, advocating for inclusion and supporting diverse voices.
She is currently in the midst of a career transition as she pursues her Master’s of Social Welfare at UCLA. Nayra’s passion for mental health advocacy stems from a lifetime of personal experiences navigating negative stigma around topics like depression, substance abuse, and anxiety. She believes in the power of therapy as a tool for healing intergenerational trauma and is intent on creating spaces where clients feel safe to dig deep. Her ultimate goal is to provide access to comprehensive multicultural mental health resources to the Los Angeles community, and looks forward to learning through practice at WOC.
